Antonelli still won the championship weekend
Second place can be a highly successful result when the championship lead grows. Antonelli left the Netherlands 59 points clear. That is the distinction between evaluating a race and evaluating a season. Norris won Sunday; Antonelli retained the stronger strategic position across the championship.
Russell's podium kept Mercedes heavily represented
George Russell completed the podium, keeping Mercedes near the front with multiple cars. That matters for the constructor picture and for strategic flexibility. A team with several cars in the lead group can influence pit windows, undercut threats and the order in which rivals encounter traffic.
The Verstappen crash changed the race texture
Max Verstappen's opening-lap crash triggered a restart and removed one of the expected front-running variables. Restarts compress strategy and can erase carefully built gaps, making the race more dependent on subsequent tire choices and execution.

Monza's long straights and heavy braking replace Zandvoort's loaded corner sequences. That makes the Italian Grand Prix a clean test of whether the Dutch result represented a broader shift or circuit-specific strength.
